Cassie Hehman Murray has been named president of Healthcare Therapy Services Inc., a rehabilitation provider of physical, occupational and speech therapy based in Greenwood.

HTS is located in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, serving 30,000 lives annually in skilled nursing communities, assisted and independent living, home health and outpatient therapy, according to a news release from the firm.

Murray was born and raised in Jackson County and is a native of Brownstown, working on the Hehman Farm and H and H Feed Supply with her parents, Connie and the late James Hehman. She is a 1990 graduate of Brownstown Central High School.

She attended Indiana University, where she received her occupational therapy degree. She received her Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.

In 1998, she made Columbus her home. She and her husband, Scott, and daughter, Alyssa, live in eastern Bartholomew County.

Murray began her career at HTS in 1994 working as a staff occupational therapist in Madison, Seymour and Salem. Throughout her 27 years with the company, she has held multiple positions, advancing in management and leadership with each role, from rehab manager to regional director to chief operating officer and chief clinical officer.

Murray has an extensive skill set in acute and post-acute care, working with individuals from all ages.

“We couldn’t have put our company in better hands,” said Steve Chatham, chief executive officer and co-owner of HTS. “Cassie is the smartest person in any room, and she has an incredible way of leading and inspiring others. She has already made tremendous impacts to our company operations and culture.”

As president, Murray has applied her leadership talents and operational strategies to successfully navigate the turbulent health care climate, including payment changes and the recent public health emergency, according to the news release.
