SEYMOUR
Brenton “Brent” James Garriott, age 62, a native of Jackson County, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on June 24, 1959 to Thomas Garriott and the late Elsie (Montsinger) Garriott.
Brent loved fishing and hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and being papaw to everyone. He was a fun loving, giving man that loved people and often put others needs ahead of his own.
He is survived by his father, Thomas Garriott of Seymour, Indiana, one son, Joshua Garriott and his wife Debra Blaha Garriott of Seymour, Indiana, two brothers, Arnold Carmack and his wife Peggy of Seymour, Indiana and Bryan Garriott of Indianapolis, Indiana. One sister, Barbara McElfresh and her husband Joe of Freetown, Indiana. One sis-in-law, Caroll Garriott of Scottsburg, Indiana. Two grandchildren, Madilyn Garriott and Olivia Garriott.
He was preceded in death by his wife Paula May (Young) Garriott on June 12, 2011; his mother and two brothers Donald Carmack and Bobby Garriott.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre.
Visitation will resume from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Hayden Cemetery.
