Ann Louise Brooks, 81, of Bloomington formally of North Vernon, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at her home with family and entered into eternal life with her Heavenly Father.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Reverend Thomas Kovatch will officiate. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. till 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. A “Celebration of Life” will take immediately after the burial at the St. Mary’s Parish Community Center, North Vernon, IN. All friends and family are invited.

Ann was born on April 22, 1940, in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of Donald Bernard Miller and Mary Hope Miller. She married Larry Edward Brooks on May 10, 1968.

Ann attended Indiana University School of Nursing, received her B.S. in nursing, and practiced nursing until the birth of her first child, Esther Marie. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in North Vernon, Indiana, for most of her life followed by St. Charles and St. Paul churches in Bloomington, Indiana.

Her Catholic faith and trust in Jesus Christ were of utmost importance to her, followed by caring and serving her family and friends. She was known for her kindness, selflessness, discipline, and generosity. She was quick to smile at friends and strangers alike. She enjoyed walking and the solitude of prayer and nature.

Ann is survived by her husband, Larry E. Brooks; three children, Ron Brooks, Rachel Daily, and Esther Asplund; nine brothers and sisters, Patricia Miller, Don Miller, Bernard Miller, John Miller, Mary Jane Miller, Theresa Brown, Paul Miller, David Miller, and Steve Miller; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Miller along with her parents, Don and Mary Hope Miller.

Memorial donations can be made through the funeral home to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
