The Indiana State Department of Health announced Monday that 5,016 Jackson County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 with no increase from Sunday’s total.
The positivity rate for Jackson County is at 5.2%, a 0.8% increase from Sunday’s percentage of 4.4%, according to the department’s COVID-19 dashboard.
The rate is determined by a seven-day moving average with a six-day lag to give time to receive comprehensive results. The current positivity rate for the county would be for April 27 to May 3.
Jackson County is classified as a level 0.5 county and a blue level threat.
One new death attributed to COVID-19 was reported in Jackson County over the weekend, meaning the county’s death toll increases to 73. No new deaths were reported Monday.
There have been 57,644 COVID tests administered to 19,126 individuals in the county since March 18, 2020, an increase of 154 from Sunday’s total.
The latest results are as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday. The coronavirus dashboard is updated at noon daily.
Also Monday, the state’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard reported 14,397 or 32.5% of 44,231 Jackson County residents have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 12,731 or 28.7% of county residents have been fully vaccinated.
Since Dec. 14, 2,442,568 Hoosiers have received their first dose, while 2,144,438 are fully vaccinated.
On Monday, 607 additional Hoosiers across the state were diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the ISDH, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.
This brings the total number of Hoosiers known to have had the novel coronavirus to 730,306 following corrections to the previous day’s total.
The state’s total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 is 11,004 with one new death reported Monday.
For the state, a total of 10,035,551 tests have been administered, an increase of 11,389 from Sunday.
