Crothersville celebrates senior night in quad-meet

Crothersville’s senior night was canceled a few weeks ago due to weather. The Tigers were supposed to be at Eastern (Pekin) for a meet last night, but that was also canceled due to weather.

Instead, Crothersville celebrated its senior night nearby in a meet at Scottsburg, which included Scottsburg, Paoli and Salem.

The three seniors that were honored for the Tigers were David Rose, Tim Hodge and Shea Reynolds.

Crothersville girls finished third in the meet with 52 points, behind Paoli (79.50) and Salem (64).

Kiarra Lakins was fourth in the 100 hurdles with a 21.43, Kennadi Lakins was fifth in the 100 with a 15.14, Kaylyn Holman won the 1600 with a 5:41.73, and Holman also won the 800 with a 2:38.72, as well as the 3200 with a 12:29.95. Ella Plasse was third in the two mile with a 14:38.35.

In the field events, Kennadi Lakins was third in the high jump with a 4’6″ and second in the long jump with a 14’0″. Shea Reynolds won the discus with a 76’8″, and she also won the shot put with a 28’8″. Kaylee Caudill was second in the shot put with a 27’2″.

As for the boys, they finished fourth with 9 points.

David Rose and Elijah Plasse went 2-3 in the 1600 with times of 5:16.38 and 5:41.37, respectively.

In the field events, Tim Hodge was 12th in the discus with a 77’8″, and he finished fourth in the shot put with a 34’0″.

Brownstown drops match to Paoli

Brownstown had a tough match against Paoli on Monday, losing 5-0.

Ava McKinney battled hard in her match at one singles. She lost the match in three sets: 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 6-10.

Emily Mann lost 0-6, 0-6 at two singles and Jenna Bolte lost 0-6, 0-6 at three singles.

In one doubles, Hannah Hackman and Chelsea Luedeman lost 2-6, 4-6, and at two doubles, Lydia Luedeman and Lexie Satterthwaite lost 1-6, 1-6.

Brownstown will be back in action on Thursday when it takes on North Harrison at home at 5 p.m.
