The Jackson County Health Department will again be a location for people who wish to dispose of their old, unwanted, expired medications.
Take back day will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the health department, 801 W. Second St., Seymour.
All medication collected that day will be disposed of properly and under the supervision of law enforcement. No personal information will be collected.
According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives in 2019. The survey also showed a majority of misused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
