Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Infrastructure Systems Inc. plans to begin pipe lining work along Interstate 65 in Jackson County on or after April 14, weather permitting.

Work will take place approximately 5 miles north of State Road 256 at Austin over an unnamed tributary to Blau Ditch. Major traffic impacts are not expected with this project as the majority of work will occur off of the roadway; however, the outside shoulders will be closed while work is in progress.

In addition, overnight single-lane closures are planned in late April or early May. These will be scheduled over one or two nights and will be announced in advance.

The $290,500 contract was awarded last fall and is expected to be complete in mid- to late May, weather permitting.

INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
