Crothersville gauging interest in summer athletics skills academy

The Crothersville Junior-Senior High School athletic department is hosting an athletics skills academy for incoming third- through eighth-graders this summer.

Forms have been sent to parents to gauge interest. Those should be returned to the child’s principal’s office by April 16.

The free skills academy is set for May 25 to June 30. Kids will work on skills and fundamentals of the sport(s) they choose.

In morning sessions, students will have the opportunity to participate in volleyball (8:15 to 9:30 a.m.), girls basketball (9:45 to 11 a.m.), boys basketball (8:15 to 9:30 a.m.) and coed cross country (7:15 to 8 a.m.). Second-graders can participate in cross country.

The afternoon locations are still to be determined and will include softball, baseball and coed soccer. The sessions will go from noon to 3 p.m. Schedules and times will be available at a later date.
