All Seasons Garden Club gathers

The All Seasons Garden Club met March 1 in the basement of Tampico Christian Church with Jean Barkman, Peggy Broshears and Rita Wischmeier hosting.

The hostesses provided the drinks for the pitch-in meal, which was a salad and dessert course enjoyed by 13 members.

Program books were passed out, President Barkman led the business meeting and discussions concerning the upcoming year were held.

Monthly meetings were approved by the members along with other business, such as supplying greeting cards to the card committee and each month will be dessert only except for March, November and December.

Plans for the Christmas party were discussed. It will Dec. 6 at Stahl’s Cafe in Brownstown with Kathy Cunningham and Becky Hackman as hostesses. The members agreed upon the price of the meal and gift exchange.

Treasurer Wischmeier read a thank-you note from the family of Veronica Bowling for the club’s donation to the Hudson Hoffman Fund. He is a great-grandson of Veronica.

Sandy Kovener discussed the upcoming April meeting to be held at the Emanuel Lutheran Church fellowship hall in Dudleytown and hosted by Connie Lovins and Kovener. A plant exchange will be held.

Kovener and Nita Bridges won the door prizes provided by Charlotte Foster.

Sherry Bridges demonstrated a spring wreath wrapped in ribbon and decorated in handmade paper flowers using tissue paper in various colors and a ribbon with which to hang the wreath.
