Ruth Oweeta Engelking, 75, of Seymour, passed away on February 24, 2021 at home with her family by her side. Ruth was a member of First Marion Baptist Church.

In 1946, Ruth was born to the late Russell Omar Umphress and Elizabeth (Martin) Umphress in Greensburg, Indiana.

On October 24, 1964, she married Robert D. “Duke” Engelking at First Marion Baptist Church who preceded her in death.

Ruth is survived by her children, Ronita L. Hounshell and Russell A. (Nikki) Engelking; grandchildren, Anthony (Cindy), Natashia, Tiffany, Duane (Mackenza), Dallas, Brook (Mike) Brittany (Chris), and Charlene; great-grandchildren, Adrianne, Dalton, Maleekah, Mackynzye, Roslyn, Braelynn, Raeclyn, and Liberty; sisters Fay Gardner, Mary Alice Craft, Kay Scifres, Patty Umphress and Nancy Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Robert Duane Engelking Jr., daughter-in-law Tina Engelking, son-in-law David Hounshell and sister Betty Monroe and her parents.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at First Marion Baptist Church in Paris Crossing, Indiana from 9:30 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM.

Funeral Services will be held at First Marion Baptist Church conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jeff Hood officiating.

Memorials may be given to First Marion Baptist Church in care of Voss Funeral Service.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required as well as social distancing within the building. Cards and notes of condolence are most welcome.
