The 61st annual Jackson County Soil and Water Conservation District meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. March 4 using the Zoom platform.
Agenda items include the reading of 2020 annual meeting minutes and the treasurer’s report; a report on accomplishments; and counting the election ballots that have been returned to the district office.
Anyone is welcome to nominate someone for the SWCD supervisor position by contacting the office by Feb. 10. Greg Sutton and Cathy Blair are currently on the ballot.
If you wish to return the ballots via U.S. Postal Service, the envelope must be postmarked by Feb. 22 or hand delivered to the office until close of business March 4. Ballots can be mailed to landowners until Feb. 17. After that date, ballots can be picked up at the office.
Anyone interested in attending the meeting can stop by the office at 1350 Woodside Drive, Brownstown, or call 812-358-2367, ext. 3. A link to the meeting and a ballot for voting on the supervisor’s position will be mailed.
The annual report will be published in the Feb. 20 edition of The Tribune.
