Tigers pull away from Columbus Christian

Kennadi Lakins put together an explosive all-around game to lead the Crothersville girls basketballl team to a 63-44 victory over Columbus Christian at home Friday night.

The Tigers swiftly rebounded from a 14-13 deficit in the first quarter, then took over and ran away with the game late after leading 44-38 following three periods.

Lakins accumulated 16 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals and seven assists.

The Tigers (4-8) had three double-figure scorers and came through aggressively on the boards.

Addy Cole had 19 points eight rebounds for Crothersville but also zero turnovers. Grace Wilson added 13 points.

The other Crothersville scorers were Zoe Spangler with seven points (as well as six rebounds) Elayna Ord with four points (and chipped in with seven rebounds) and Ella Plasse and Tiessa Stevens two points apiece.

Due to prior postponements connected to quarantine from the coronavirus, the girls will have games Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
