Senior Sydney Jaynes scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds and sophomore guard Bailey Tabeling added 11 points, but the Trinity Lutheran girls basketball team couldn’t cope with visiting Vincennes Rivet Tuesday night, falling 51-33.

Out-scored from the start, the Cougars could not chase down 8-3 Vincennes, which built a 12-2 first-quarter lead in an uncharacteristically unproductive offensive start for Trinity.

It was 25-10 Vincennes at halftime. Trinity (11-2) showed some spark, cutting into the lead in the third quarter with a 14-9 period, but fell back again in the fourth.

The Cougars had only four players on the scoreboard for the night. Genesis Munoz, 3, and Emma Schepman, 2, were the only other scorers besides Jaynes and Tabeling. Schepman had 6 rebounds.
