CROTHERSVILLE, INDIANA

Loreda M. Hendren, 84 of Crothersville passed away at Schneck Medical Center on December 19, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born June 22, 1936 in Jackson County, Indiana to William and Clara Surenkamp Duwe. She married William Hendren on November 21, 1984 in Louisville, Kentucky.

In her earlier years, she was a member at St. John’s Lutheran Church – Sauers where she was confirmed. She has been a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. She worked mostly at Big Blue and Union Hardware. She and William enjoyed ball room dancing and she loved spending time with her family.

Loreda is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Frances Darlage, brother, John Duwe and daughter-in-law, Debra Wetzel. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, William of Crothersville, her children, Donald E. Wetzel, Jr. of Seymour, Lisa M. (Alan) Lewis of Seymour, Teresa S. (John) Sowders of Madison, Debra (Daniel) Teel of Bloomington, Illinois and Steven (Rhonda) Wetzel of Seymour. She is also survived by her brother, Everett (Elvera) Duwe of Seymour. She is survived by eight grandchildren, January (Anthony) Rutherford, Whitney (Scott) Reinhart, Amanda (Kyle) Pilman, Michael Lewis, Boone (Kara) Dorsett, Hannah (Graham) Skinnari, Eric (Ashley) Hammett and Dr. Jessica (Nick) Filosa, and eleven great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Knox, Hudd, Kayden, Kelsi, Kori, Beau, Urijah, Alana-Jo, Daniel and Colton.

Friends may visit with Loreda’s family from 10 am until service time at 2 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch, Rev. James Rodriguez and Vicar Will Fredstrom officiating. Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana.

Memorials may be given in Loreda’s memory to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Redeemer Lutheran Church at Burkholder Chapel.
