Brownstown church invites community to Christmas Eve service

Brownstown United Methodist Church invites the community to short, safe Christmas Eve services.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, safe distancing will be practiced on the lawn of the church at the corner of Poplar and Walnut streets in Brownstown.

Attendees may bring an outdoor chair or stool, but it will not be a long service. They also should bring a battery-powered candle or small flashlight to represent God’s light coming to Earth.

Those in attendance will sing some Christmas carols and read appropriate scriptures.

The same service will be at 6 and 11 p.m. Thursday.

Should the weather be bad, there will be social distancing inside.

The church hosts worship services at 10 a.m. Sundays with social distancing and wearing of face masks. The services also are posted on the church’s Facebook page, facebook.com/brownstownumc, at noon Sundays.
