Hudson Norton scored 24 points to lead the Trinity Lutheran boys, Saturday, but the Cougars were out-scored, 84-66, by Jac-Cen-Del.

Tyler Goecker added 10 points for Trinity, going over 1,000 points in his career and Sage Broughton matched that total for the Cougars.

Host Jac-Cen-Del scored heavily in the late going, amassing 27 points in the fourth quarter.

The Cougar boys now have a break over Christmas and New Year’s.

Winning streak snapped

Trailing all the way, the Crothersville girls basketball team saw its three-game winning streak ended, 45-28, by the Southwestern Lady Rebels, Saturday.

The Tigers fell behind 12-6 after one period and were down by 14 points at the half and could not make up the difference. Turnovers were an unhealthy culprit for Crothersville, as well.

Ellie Foley, with 13 points, and Ashton Goode with 12, led Southwestern.

Zoe Spangler’s 19 points accounted for most of the points for Crothersville.

The other Tiger scorers were Grace Wilson with 3 points and Ella Plasse, Kennadi Lakins and Tiessa Stevens with 2 points each.

Lakins had 7 assists and Wilson had 4 assists. Stevens grabbed 8 rebounds.

Crothersville next hosts the Lady Tiger Classic Dec. 26. The Tigers’ opening game is versus Rising Sun at 11 a.m.
