NORTH VENICE, FL

Alice M. Rebber, age 92, of North Venice, Florida, formerly of Sarasota, Florida and Seymour, Indiana passed away peacefully early on the morning of November 16, 2020. She was born on October 21, 1928 in the small town of Dudleytown, Indiana. She talked fondly of her early years growing up on the family farm and going to school in a one room schoolhouse where they taught all 8 grades in the same room. Her graduating class was 7 people. She abhorred eggs which was strange for someone who grew up on a farm.

She was a homemaker and retired first to Sarasota Florida and then to Venice Florida. She prided herself on always having a spotless house and being the best cook in whatever neighborhood she was living in. During her later years when she was finally convinced to have someone help clean the house, she would “pre-clean” before the cleaning people arrived because nobody else could quite do it as good as she could and she just didn’t think anybody else should clean someone else’s bathroom.

Alice is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles A. Rebber of North Venice; two sons, Tom Rebber of North Venice and Joe Rebber of Fishers, Indiana. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. There are no services planned at this time. Burial will be private at the Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements. A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
