Jane Parker Johnson, 87, of Chesterfield, MO, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Thursday, November 5, 2020. She had been aging with Dementia for several years and was cared for by her loving husband.

Jane was born in Somerset, KY on July 19, 1933 to the late John Murphy & Marie Faulkner Parker. She grew up attending Somerset Baptist Church and remained a lifelong Baptist. She attended Eastern Kentucky State Teachers College (now Eastern Kentucky University) in Richmond, KY and earned a degree in Education in 1955. Jane was a 4th grade teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of the Osage Community Elks Lodge 2705.

On August 28, 1955 in Somerset, KY, she married Oris Glen Johnson Jr. and he survives in Chesterfield, MO. Other survivors include her daughters, Susan Jane Johnson (Tom) Barringer, Carolyn Marie Johnson (Marc) McGary, & Amy Louise Johnson; her grandchildren, Hailey Marie Barringer, Elizabeth Parker Barringer, & Kyle Michael McGary.

Jane loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed maintaining friendships from her childhood in Somerset, Kentucky and college in Richmond, Kentucky which is where she met her husband, Glen. Throughout the years Jane and Glen enjoyed the many friends that became a part of their lives during the time they were stationed at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma; and while living in Louisville, Kentucky; Dearborn Heights and Livonia (Detroit area), Michigan; Chesterfield (St. Louis area), Missouri, and Camdenton, Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks. Being an only child, she valued the close relationship she had with her husband’s brothers and sister and their families in Indiana. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved spending time on the lake floating and boating. Jane also loved gardening, doing crafts, and decorating for the different seasons and holidays. She enjoyed watching sports and was a big fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey. She loved to laugh and brought kindness and joy to all that knew her. Most of all, Jane loved her husband, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren and they dearly loved her.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to Vallonia Christian Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
