Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Duncan Robertson Inc. resumed work earlier this week on the State Road 135 bridge over Wayman Ditch in Jackson County.

The bridge replacement project west of Brownstown was put on hold last month due to a problem with one of the piers.

State Road 135 closed just north of U.S. 50 in April and is expected to reopen by mid-November, weather permitting.

Flagging may be necessary once the bridge reopens. The official detour remains U.S. 50 to State Road 446 to State Road 58.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and use extra caution in and near work zones. All work is weather dependent.
