Free Wrestling camp next week

The Seymour Wrestling Club is conducting a free wrestling camp for athletes grades 3-8 on Oct. 5, 6 and Oct. 8 in the Seymour High wrestling room.

The focus will be on the basic skills of wrestling and the opportunity to continue practice wrestling will be available after the three-day sessions.

Camp sessions are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7:15 and parents are asked to leave their participants at Door 15. Parents are not allowed to enter the building and non-participants may not attend the practices.

Prior to the camp, children must complete a health screening and should allow 10 or 15 minutes of extra time before the start of the sessions to be checked. Wrestlers must wear face masks and will be told when to remove them by coaches.

For those who wish to join the club and continue wrestling participation after the basic introduction, practices will take place 6:30-8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Aspiring wrestlers in kindergarten through second grade will be able to join starting in January.
