Is your life headed in the right direction?
If not, what needs to change? This is an important question because when you change direction, things change.
Direction in life takes precedence over intention every time when it comes to determining our ultimate destination. We know this is true when we are hiking, driving or riding. Why is it so difficult to connect the dots in our daily lives?
The direction you take with your finances will have a direct impact on where you end up financially. The same is true in marriage, relationships, dating, parenting, academics, etc.
Good intentions don’t get us where we need to go. Intentions are good, but direction is better. Direction beats intention every time.
Jesus invites us to go in his direction and to trust him with our future destination. That not only applies to heaven, but it applies to life here on this earth today. This is a decision nobody else can make for you. It is a decision we must make for ourselves.
I made the decision to follow Christ when I was a child. It has been the right choice for meh and I believe you will discover it is the right choice for you, but that is a decision you have to make on your own.
I believe following Jesus has made my life better. I also believe following Jesus is making me better at life.
Since I believe that, it is not difficult for me to ask you to consider surrendering your life to Jesus and going in his direction today. It is a decision I’m convinced you’ll be glad you made now and for eternity.
After 35 years of pastoral ministry and interacting with thousands of people over those years, not one person has ever told me going in God’s direction was a mistake. Something profound happens in our lives when we decide to listen to the words of Jesus.
I’m amazed how God’s timeless truth is communicated through the Bible. Words written thousands of years ago still have application for us in 2020. Isn’t that amazing? The Bible is like the owner’s manual for life.
Admittedly, I don’t always read the instructions when I buy a new product. But many times, I have had to take things apart and start over because I did it my way.
Are you at a place in your life where you are tired of starting over? Wouldn’t you like to read the instructions and do it right this time? You can’t go wrong applying God’s truth to your life.
