BROWNSTOWN
Robert L. Peters, 75, of Brownstown, died at 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home. He was born on May 31, 1944 to the late Ralph & Wilma (Nieman) Peters. He was baptized on June 18, 1944 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Wegan and was a life-long member of the church. He graduated from Tampico High School in 1962 and served in the National Guard for 6 years.
On September 8, 1968 he married Joyce Downey and she survives. Together they had 4 children, Tiffini Noble of Brownstown, Tonya (Austin) Carr of Indianapolis, Greg (Deanna) Peters of Brownstown, & Grant (Katrina) Peters of Greensburg. Other survivors include 3 brothers, Eugene (Sue) Peters of Brownstown, Lester (Joann) Peters of Columbus, & Boyd (Jan) Peters of Washington, IL; sister-Ina Beth (Tom) Cridlin of Greenwood; grandchildren, Kayla Noble, Doran (Courtney Limbaugh) Noble, Kahlen, Gunner, Klara, Grady & Grahm Peters; one great grandchild-Olivia Limbaugh.
Robert was a Dairy Farmer and enjoyed Holstein shows and loved anything to do with basketball. He had been involved with 4-H his whole life, was a board member for Farm Service Agency for 18 years & was also a member of Progressive Young Farmer Chapter. He was also a board member for Lutheran Central School and a member of the Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department.
A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Wegan with Pastor Martin Keller officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Wegan or to Lutheran Central School and can be mailed to Johnson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 24, Vallonia, IN 47281.
