Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E and B Paving Inc. plans to begin work next week on U.S. 31 over Mutton Creek Ditch in Jackson County.
Starting on or after Monday, U.S. 31 will be restricted to one lane with a temporary traffic signal while crews apply a deck overlay. The bridge is located approximately 1 mile north of Interstate 65 between Uniontown and Seymour.
This project is part of a multimillion-dollar bridge rehabilitation contract that began last year. Work started on U.S. 31 over I-65 in March as part of the same contract and is expected to be complete in July. The entire contract will be complete this fall.
INDOT is advising motorists to slow down, watch for stopped traffic and drive distraction-free through the work zone. All work is weather dependent.
