Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has provided guidance that health care facilities can reopen for essential visits, but some patients may choose to stay at home.
At Schneck physician practices, patients can continue to see their specialists and primary care providers — whether it’s their family physician, oncologist, surgeon, pediatrician and others — utilizing telehealth.
“Even as Schneck physician practices begin to reopen, we will continue to offer telehealth services,” said Warren Forgey, president and chief executive officer of Schneck Medical Center.
“We want to ensure those patients who choose to stay at home can do so,” he said. “As we reopen for in-person visits, telehealth is an option for those patients who don’t feel comfortable coming into the practice or have significant risk factors if they were to contract coronavirus,”
Schneck has offered telehealth services since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak as an alternative for patients in need of essential services.
“We want to provide continued access and care for our communities in whatever way our patients feel most comfortable,” said Dr. Eric Fish, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Schneck. “Schneck physicians and caregivers value the bond with their patients, and telehealth allows them to stay connected during this unprecedented time.”
To meet online with your doctor, patients must have a device that has a camera and a microphone installed. Patients interested in scheduling a telehealth visit are advised to contact their physician’s office.
