Starting Monday, Community Diner of Seymour will be handing out meals at a new location.
Pickup time will be from 5 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot at Waymaker Ministries Inc.’s resource center being constructed at 326 Dupont Drive on the east side of Seymour. Park on the street and line up according to social distancing with one member of the household approaching the service table in order to get food.
Patrons who walk to the normal site of the diner, First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Third St., Seymour, can still pick up meals from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall door facing Broadway Street.
Patrons who typically drive to the church are asked to pick up meals at the new location.
The menu for Monday will be turkey and noodles, green beans and dessert.
The free meals will continue to be served from 5 to 6 p.m. Mondays at the new site. Community Diner is one of eight local entities partnering to offer the daily hot meal site for anyone in need. The Feeding Seymour project is estimated to run approximately 10 weeks.
Anyone interested in helping Community Diner feed the hungry can email [email protected] for information or stop by Monday during the meal.
