Mrs. Monica Dawn “Pixie” Otte, 74, of Seymour, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at Lutheran Community Home. She was born in Seymour to the late William Smith and Dolores (Greene) McCord.
A private funeral service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service with private burial to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Borchers. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church Borchers at a later date to celebrate Pixie’s life with her family and friends.
On April 19, 1964 at Zion Lutheran Church in Seymour, Pixie married Jerry D. Otte, he survives. She was a past 4-H leader and was active within the community including membership in the Indiana Angus Auxiliary, Jackson County Democrat Women’s Club and Kum Join Us Extension Homemaker Club. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Borchers and was a member of the quilting and blanket making group, and Mary Martha Circle.
Pixie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Otte; children, Catherine (Rich) Fulton, Julie (Greg) Rieker, Patrick (Colleen) Otte, Monica (David) Lachniet; grandchildren, Christoph, Zachary, Baron, Steven, Katarina, Derek, Garrett, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Whitley, Colton, Samuel, Gabriel; sister, Carol Ann Guiles; stepbrother, Steve (Linda) Starr; sister-in-law, Donna Starr; and brother and sister-in-law, Don and Nancy Otte.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores McCord; father and stepmother, William and Hilda (Hurley) Smith; son, Nathaniel Otte; and stepbrother, Mike Starr.
