Mrs. Doris Ilene Cooksey, 87, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020. She was born in Bethany to the late Elmer and Ruth (Wright) Isenhower.
A private funeral service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, April 18. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. A live stream of the service will be available on the Voss Funeral Service Facebook page Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Dale Warren Cooksey on July 8, 1970 at Bethel Baptist Church in Columbus; he preceded her in death on September 10, 2015. She worked for Arvins in Columbus, then along with Dale, became the former owner/operator of Quality Vault Company. Doris enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, spending time with family, sewing and gardening flowers but she lived to care for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Glen (Teresia) Brock, Vicki (Dallas) King, Gail Johnson, Julie (Rick) Stillabower, Vickie Perkins, Keith (Jennifer) Richie and Christie (Trent) Turner; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Errol Isenhower.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Mark Cooksey; grandsons, Cyrus Johnson and Dallas King, Jr.; brothers, Gary Isenhower, Cleon Isenhower, Ricky Isenhower and Dale Isenhower; and sisters, Shirley Isenhower, Sharon Phyllis Isenhower and Carol Thompson.
