Indiana DNR seeking citizen feedback for new direction plan

If you’d like something to change within the Indiana State Forest, you may just be in luck.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry is almost ready to begin drafting its next five-year strategic plan and is looking to do so with the feedback of locals.

On Feb. 26 and 27, the IDNR conducted open house events inviting citizens to come and provide feedback on the previous five-year plan.

They also had posterboards listing specific topics they’re looking for feedback on, including whether or not there is a need for more recreational opportunities at state forests, handling of endangered and threatened species and many others.

Those who would like to provide feedback but were unable to attend the open house events can still do so by visiting in.gov/dnr/forestry/8122.htm.

These comments will be reviewed and taken into consideration even after the release of the first draft in June 2020.

After considering all feedback, a final version will be submitted for executive office approval sometime during the summer of 2020.
