Loretta Grace Holland, 75, of Seymour, died Monday, October 14, 2019 at Seymour Crossing Nursing Home.

Loretta was born to Roy L. and Grace Brogdon Holland on January 12th, 1944, in Rush County. On February 5, 1960, she married Charles M. Pollard and they had five children. Later, she married, William (Bill) J.D. Smith and they had one child together. Loretta worked various jobs throughout her life, but the job she loved the most was working in a group home for children who didn’t have a good home to go to. Loretta liked to have a good time, play euchre, shop for clothes and attend garage sales. She loved helping her children and one of her most precious memories was the time they threw her a surprise party.

Loretta is survived by her five children. Deborah (Danny) Schwartz of Brownstown; Gregory Pollard of Dayton, Ohio; Richard Pollard of London, Ohio; Jeffrey (Heather) Pollard of Sidney, Ohio; William “Billy” (Raelyn) Smith of Freetown; three brothers and a sister-in-law. Thomas L. Holland of Glenwood; Otis M. Holland of Gainesville, Florida; Richard (Irene) Holland of Belton, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Loretta was preceded in death by her father: Roy L Holland, her mother: Grace L. Lechner, her first husband: Charles M. Pollard, her second husband: William “Bill” Smith, her son, Charles Michael Pollard, an infant sister: Alice Faye Holland, her sister: Vivian May, and four brothers: Curtis, Vernon, Lemuel and Kenneth Holland.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Glenwood Christian Church, 100 Main Street. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 p.m.. Inurnment will follow in Orange Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Positive Braves Classroom Fund, Brownstown Central High School, 500 Elm Street, Brownstown, Indiana 47220. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, is assisting with the arrangements.
