Alpha Lambda Delta initiates new members

Twelve Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus students were initiated into Alpha Lambda Delta honor society Oct. 6 during a ceremony in the Columbus Learning Center.

The inductees include Ashley Renee Sargent of Seymour and Kerrigan Alexa Wyatt of North Vernon.

To become members, students had to meet a minimum cumulative 3.5 grade-point average. All coursework must be college level and count toward a bachelor’s degree.

Founded in 1924, the society is for students in their first year at an institution of higher education. The mission is to encourage superior academic achievement, promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning and assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their unique roles in society. The IUPUC chapter was installed in 2013.
