Daily closures of State Road 39 in Jackson and Washington counties originally scheduled to begin this week for pipe replacement projects have been delayed until next week.

The work, now expected to be completed by Sept. 19, involves complete pipe replacements in preparation for a $5 million asphalt resurface project set to begin this fall.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 17 and 18, the road will be closed in two sections between State Road 56 and State Road 256. Pipe replacement approximately 1 mile south of Little York will be Sept. 17, and pipe replacement approximately a half-mile north of Little York is set for Sept. 18.

The detour is State Road 56 to I-65 to State Road 256.

Then from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 19, State Road 39 will be closed between State Road 256 and State Road 250 for pipe replacement about 2 miles north of Tampico.

The detour is State Road 256 to Interstate 65 to State Road 250.
