Sherry K. Walker, 74, of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, August 25, 2019 at her home after fighting lung cancer for three years.

Sherry was born December 2, 1944, in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Doris Graves Greenwood, who preceded her in death.

Sherry was united in marriage in 1962 to Haves Turner, this union was blessed with a daughter, Rochelle (Shelly) Cope. Sherry was later united in marriage to Marion E. Walker in 1969, this union was blessed with a daughter, Melessa (Lesa) Walker.

Sherry loved spending time with family and friends and working in her yard and having the best yard in town. She also enjoyed reading and exchanging books with friends. Having a passion for traveling, Sherry went to Guatemala and help deliver supplies to orphaned children. Sherry also loved helping others with her words of wisdom.

Sherry will be missed by her loving family and friends, her daughters, Rochelle (Jerry) Cope of Columbus and Melessa Walker of Virginia; grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie), Adam (Jessica) and Hannah (Carlos) and Ben Lehman; great-grandchildren, Blaire, Leo and Maddie; her former son-in-law, Craig Lehman; her fur grandchildren, Wilbur and Ollie; siblings, Dian (Randel) Kessler, Linda (Jim) Feltner, Richard Greenwood and Denny (Patty) Greenwood; sister-in-law, Cathy Greenwood; 11 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; and 11 great-great nieces and nephews.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cecil Greenwood; sister, Janet Amick; and an infant brother, Gary Ray Greenwood.

The celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 5 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Private inurnment will be at Crothersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Regional Health Foundation for the Cancer Center or the Cancer Center Survivor Support Fund.
