Retirement celebration set for Seymour officer

The public is invited to a celebration from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday for Seymour Police Department Sgt. Jack Swindell, who is retiring after 35 years of service.

The party will be in the lobby of the police station, 205 N. Ewing St., Seymour.

Swindell, a 1981 graduate of Jennings County High School, became a probation officer for Seymour on Jan. 11, 1985, and graduated Sept. 25, 1985, from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield. He also earned an associate degree in law enforcement from Vincennes University.
