Rowland L. Deputy, 91, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on July 13, 2019, peacefully at home with his family by his side.

Rowland was born in 1927 to the late Charles and Cleoda (Rowland) Deputy. He married Patricia Mize on November 5, 1949 in Lafayette, Indiana. Rowland was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Seymour. He was the founder and president of Deputy Electronics, Inc., a leader in 2-way radio communications and consumer electronics and entertainment.

Rowland is survived by his children; Linda Thomas, Carol (Thomas) Oktavec, and John (Debra) Deputy, siblings; Maxine Sharp, and Audra (Gary) Polley, grandchildren; Shane Eldridge, Brett Eldridge, Ryan (Krista) McIntire, Sara (James) Jones, Thomas M (Crissy) Oktavec & great grandchildren; Kelvin, Alexis, Evelyn, Natalie, Landon, Talan, Dechlan, Arielle, Lane & soon to arrive, Xander.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, son-in-law Robert Thomas, grandson Chad Eldridge, siblings; Charles L. Deputy and Nelda Foster.

Funeral services will be held Friday July 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Voss & Sons Funeral Service with Pastor Paul Huntsman officiating. Burial will follow at Cana Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Friends and family may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service from 4 to 8pm on Thursday July 18 and Friday July 19 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
