The U.S. Forest Service is planning several family events this summer, including one from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Hardin Ridge Recreation Area amphitheater in Monroe County.

The public is invited to stop in to enjoy some nature crafts, have a picnic or go for a hike. There is a $5 per vehicle day use fee to enter the recreation area, which is located at 6464 Hardin Ridge Road, Heltonville.
