
The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour recently met with President Paula Stafford calling the meeting to order and thanking Lois Geuder and her group for being hostesses.
The tables were decorated in a Fourth of July theme. Janice Brock passed around a sign-up sheet to bring cookies for the welcome center.
Becky Brewer gave devotions on the history of our wonderful country. She played the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," sang by the Navy Choir on the computer.
The minutes were read by Judy McDonald and approved. Betty Guinn gave the treasurer’s report and it was approved. She read two thank you notes.
Bonnie Koontz announced the next sale is July 28 at the church and she would appreciate help. There were no flowers or cards sent.
Lucy Dembek bought forks and glasses for the kitchen. Several members gave ideas for fundraisers. There was no decision made.
Under new business, Virginia Goben asked the group to donate cookies for unity services July 19. Thirteen volunteers are going to bring three dozen each.
There will be no meeting in July. The next meeting will be a pitch-in picnic at 6 p.m. Aug. 27.
The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
