State District 69 Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) has been appointed to serve on the interim study committees on public policy and elections.
Summer study committees examine the state’s top issues and recommend potential legislation.
“These committees give us a chance as legislators to explore topics that need extensive research,” Lucas said in a news release. “The Public Policy Committee will be examining the commercial ticketing market including scalping, ticket resales, speculative ticketing and ticket platforms. The discussions we have over the next few months will help us make decisions about the need for new legislation.”
Lucas said committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
