International Mud Day event set at library

Children through age 12 are invited to join the Jackson County Public Library at 2 p.m. Saturday in celebrating a unique event in the parking lot at the library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.

Participants should be prepared to get very dirty and wet. They will not be allowed back into the library after the event, but a hose will be provided.

International Mud Day began in 2009 at a World Forum event when the founders got together to talk about ways to encourage feelings of community and appreciation for the world around us. This event has inspired educators, children and families across the globe, from Holland to Nepal to the United States, to celebrate International Mud Day together each year on June 29.
