Relay for Life event moved indoors

The Tribune Staff Reports

Due to an inclement weather forecast, the American Cancer Society “I Relay, What’s Your Superpower” Relay for Life of Columbus will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in the air-conditioned main and auxiliary gymnasiums at Central Middle School, 725 Seventh St., Columbus.

The event, which is open to the public, begins with the opening ceremony at 11 a.m., followed by the survivor lap. Survivors should arrive on site by 10:30 a.m. for registration. Survivors are encouraged to stay for a noon taco lunch in the school cafeteria.

Teams should decorate their area with a superhero theme, bring silent and live auction items to the event and make name tags for team members. Tables are available for teams to use at the school, and participants are encouraged to bring chairs. Pop-up tents are allowed if a tarp covers the gym floor. If weather permits, teams also may walk outside on the track.

Survivor parking is in the bus lot on Seventh Street. Other participants can park in either the Sixth Street or Seventh Street parking lots.
