Wanda D. Smith Stout Hallett, 77, of Seymour, has gone to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Mrs. Hallett was a member of Seymour Christian Church. As a child, she was a member of Dive Christian Church in Bedford. She was a homemaker and belonged to the American Legion.
Wanda was a beloved mother, who was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed getting her hair fixed and her nails done, and loved sewing, canning food, drinking sweet tea and Diet Coke, and eating Kit Kat candy bars.
Born on November 20, 1941, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Issac Vestal and Evelyn Eileen Smith, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 19, 1960, in Lawrence County, she married Joseph W. Stout, Sr. and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Joseph W. (Jenny) Stout, Jr. of Seymour; three daughters: Sherry (Bob) Lewis of Paris Crossing, Linda D. (Arvelle) Hammons of Tennessee, and Melissa D. Serino of Seymour; two step-daughters: Cynthia Findley of Seymour, and Sondra Young of Colorado; two brothers: Clarence (Huann) Smith of Bedford, and Ronnie (Carol) Smith of Mitchell; one sister, Phyllis McSherry of Bedford; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Wanda was also preceded in death by her second husband, Louis Hallett; four brothers: Robert W. Smith, Donnie Smith, Duane Smith, and Gene Smith; three sisters: Carol Wikle, Regenia Box, and Cheryl Spicer; and step-daughter, Jennifer Stout.
Funeral services for Wanda D. Smith Stout Hallett will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Memorials may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
