Mark “Randy” Hall, 70, of Columbus, passed away at 12:22 p.m., May 30, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

Randy was born August 31, 1948 in Columbus, the son of Charles R. and Marjorie Faye Donnell Hall. He married Cathy McMillan on January 1, 2001.

Randy was a 1966 graduate of Columbus High School and obtained an Associate of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from IUPUC. When Randy was younger he enjoyed racing go-karts, becoming a member of the Columbus Kart Club. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America/Columbus Sports Car Club, where he was a past Club Regional Executive. Randy was a former referee of high school and college volleyball, advancing to officiating the state high school girls’ volleyball tournament 3 consecutive years. He also supervised and refereed the city volleyball leagues for many years, and was involved with the Columbus Softball Association as a player/umpire. Most of all, Randy loved traveling to New England, the east coast, and the Blue Ridge Parkway with his wife and “fur children”. Since 1992 Randy has been employed with Cummins Engine Company as a Mechanical Engineering Technician.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday June 5, 2019 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

Memorials may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Survivors include his wife Cathy; his special “fur child” Molly; a brother Michael L. (Janice) Hall of Franklin; a sister-in-law Pam (Tom) Tilford of Brownstown; nephews Ryan & Matthew Hall both of Franklin; nieces Rebecca Tilford (Shane) Loper of Freetown and Jennifer Tilford of Columbia, South Carolina; a great-niece and a great-nephew as well as numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Nikki Jean Hall; and a “fur child” Maggie, who shared the same birthday as Randy.
