BROWNSTOWN

Betty T. Hamilton, age 80, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Hoosier Christian Village.

Mrs. Hamilton was of the Lutheran faith. She was a factory worker for several years and also worked as a cook at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown for numerous years. Betty loved to yodel, paint portraits, and write poetry.

Born on March 18, 1939, in Leesville, she was the daughter of John and Sylvia Flynn Starr, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 30, 1979, in Tennessee, she married James Hamilton and he survives in Brownstown.

Survivors also include two brothers: Mike (Becky) Starr of Medora, and Ronnie Starr of Medora; four sisters: Arlene Forrest of Clearspring, Rae Ann (Dennis) Sherrill of Norman, Janie (Elmer) Cheek of Norman, and Brenda Kay Starr of Brownstown; two grandchildren: Jessie (Danielle) Brown of Seymour, and Megan Kleber; and three great grandchildren: Lucas Dean Brown, Zachary Brown, and Jordan Brown.

Betty was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Brown; four brothers: Jim Starr, John Starr, Curtis Starr, and Robert Starr; and three sisters: Mary Gail Abel, Virginia Fortner, and June Warren.

Funeral services for Betty T. Hamilton will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Pinhook Cemetery, Lawrence County.

Memorials may be given to Hoosier Christian Village.
