Bartholomew County police have released additional details concerning a wreck that left a 22-year-old Freetown man dead.
Terry Von Anderson III died after his 2005 Ford Mustang crashed in a small creek bed at County Road 675W around 3:46 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.
That area is south of County Road 1050S in southwestern Bartholomew County.
Police said a preliminary investigation showed Anderson was driving north on County Road 675W when he met a southbound vehicle at the hill crest. The right side of Anderson’s vehicle dropped off of the east edge of the road.
Police said they believe Anderson overcorrected and his vehicle slid off of the road and overturned onto its passenger side.
Anderson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
County Officer Mark Helms was the first on scene and was assisted by the Indiana State Police, Columbus Fire Department, Southwest Fire Department and Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office.
