Sharon Kay McCrory, 80, of North Vernon, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, at her residence.

Born March 5, 1939, in Hancock County, Sharon was the daughter of the late William I. and Marcella Delana (Redding) Nelson.

She married Clifford McCrory on September 2, 1995 at the Shelbyville Nazarene Church in Shelbyville. He survives.

Sharon was a 1957 graduate of Charlottesville High School in Charlottesville. She worked as cake decorator and office assistant for Linne’s Bakery & Pastry Shoppe in Shelbyville for 11 years before retiring in 1995.

Sharon was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon and a former member of First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville. She enjoyed reading, cooking, entertaining company, and listening to music. She loved spending time with her family.

Surviving with her husband, Clifford McCrory, are sons, Rev. Kim (Mary) Suits of Lindale, Texas and Brad Suits of Cleveland, Tennessee; daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Brown of Knightstown; sister, Sandra Marlene Suits of Seymour; grandchildren, Jeremy Suits of Greencastle, Derek (Kayla) Suits of Batesville, Joshua Suits and Elizabeth Haskett, both of Lindale, Texas, Sarah (Micah) Jordan of Nashville, Tennessee and Rachel (Nate) Jordan of Cleveland, Tennessee; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Gary Irwin.

A funeral service for Sharon will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon with the Rev. Caleb Reynolds officiating. Family and friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made through the funeral home to the First Church of the Nazarene or Nazarene Missions International.
