Owls top Generals 

CLARKSVILLE

Seymour led 3-1 after three innings before blowing the game open in the fourth for an 11-5 win over Clarksville on Saturday.

The Owls scored six runs in the fourth inning before adding runs in the fifth and the sixth to come away with the win.

Seymour outhit Clarksville 11-5 in the game. Devin Hill led the Owls with three hits, and Braden Christopher had two. Hill had two doubles, and Christopher had a double and a single.

Christopher picked up the win on the mound, pitching four innings. 

Seymour (9-6) hosts Bedford North Lawrence today to open Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament play.

Tigers drop SAC game

BORDEN

Borden recorded 20 hits in a 23-3 five-inning Southern Athletic Conference win over Crothersville on Saturday.

The Braves led 8-0 after one inning and 23-0 at the conclusion of two.

The Tigers had five hits in the game with Logan Brewer recording two. Brewer had a solo home run in the contest.

Briar Robinson took the loss on the mound.

Crothersville (1-10) travels to Edinburgh Tuesday.

BOYS GOLF

Owls compete in tourney

BLOOMINGTON

Seymour placed 10th of 13 teams in the Blommington High School North Invitational at Cascades Golf Course on Saturday.

The tournament featured numerous ranked teams.

Center Grove scored 311 strokes to edge Columbus North by one to win the tournament, while Bloomington North placed third with a 313, Bloomington South (316) was fourth and Bedford North Lawrence (319) took fifth. Franklin (326), New Albany (327), Brownsburg (344), Terre Haute North (344), Seymour (352), Edgewood (360), Perry Meridian (375) and Providence (382) followed.

New Albany’s Nolan Keeler shot a 2-under-par 70 for medalist honors.

Owen Marshall led Seymour with an 82, Conner Hinton and Tom Hoffmeier each carded 87s, Ethan Dippold shot 96 and Andrew Knieriem totaled 102.
