SHS accepting donations for birthday bags

Seymour High School’s Jobs for America’s Graduates program and Key Club are working with Jackson County United Way for its annual Day of Caring on May 14.

Students will be making birthday bags for The Alley, Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Pantry and other local food pantries. The bags will give parents an opportunity to throw their child a birthday party.

The school is accepting donations to help fill the bags. Items needed include birthday bags, cake mixes, cake icing, birthday cake candles, party hats, noisemakers, small packages of balloons, crepe paper streamers, cake decorations, birthday cards and small gifts such as coloring books, crayons and Play-Doh.

Donations may be made at the school’s main entrance and will be accepted through May 10.
