Alysha Sandlin’s night was made Tuesday.
She was invited to Trinity Lutheran’s varsity baseball game against Oldenburg Academy to throw out the first pitch.
Royalty Companies of Indiana is one of the team’s sponsors, and the Seymour-based company asked Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County to have an athlete throw out the first pitch on its behalf.
Sandlin, who is a member of the Special Olympics softball, basketball and track and field teams and regularly attends weekly unified fitness club meetings, was more than happy to do the honors.
The team presented Sandlin with an autographed baseball and a Trinity Lutheran Cougars baseball hat to keep. She also was given a baseball jersey to wear while throwing out the first pitch.
