Mrs. Joyce E. Schleter, 90, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Covered Bridge Health Campus. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Russell and Ruth E. (Gruber) Calkins.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 1 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Joyce was a member of Seymour Christian Church. On November 29, 1965, she married Robert E. Schleter; he preceded her in death on December 24, 2013.
She was owner and operator of Ceramics by Joyce, a local ceramics shop where she also taught classes, for over 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and VFW, and an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her children, Don (Donna) Gossett, Richard (Ronda) Gossett, Sandy Schrink and David Gossett; grandchildren, Greg Gossett, Patrick Gossett, Beth Ann Gossett, Mike Gossett, Brad (Jenny) Gossett, Joby (Michelle) Gossett, Debbie (Tim) Smallwood, Melanie Sutton, Kimberly (Ben) Stewart, Angie (Dana) Gossett; 16 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Lawrence Calkins and Russell Calkins; and sisters, Blanche Jerrell and Ada Scott.
