Mr. David James Kieser, 75, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Albany to the late Donavon O. and Norma E. (Pruess) Kieser.
Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. with Revs. Andrew Currao and Joseph Barlau officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
David was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he participated in Mens Morning Bible Study. He was a man of strong faith and showed this to his family and friends through the many trials in his life.
He retired from Holmes Industries then went to work at Kokolene Oil Company for 10 years before retiring. He enjoyed being outside fishing, hunting and coon hunting.
He was a Webelo leader. He was into woodworking, gardening and enjoyed being a craftsman. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. He loved being a family man and especially time spent with grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Cheryl (VonFange) Kieser; children, Karen (Darren) Sipes and Brian (Kathy) Kieser; grandchildren, Tyler (Carla) Sipes, Jacob Sipes (Marie Shultz), Brice Sipes, Kyle Kieser and Shelby Kieser; brothers, Stephen Kieser and Donovan (Deanna) Kieser; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
