Joshua Trueblood, 46, of Seymour, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 18, 2019 after a four year battle with brain cancer. He was born in Lafayette to Scott and Donna (Sturgeon) Trueblood.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 23 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday from 3-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service. A Masonic service will be held Monday at 7 p.m.

Josh was a member of Reddington Christian Church where he married the love of his life, Tammy Maschino, on October 26, 2002. He attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology studying engineering before transferring to Indiana State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Josh was a firefighter for the city of Seymour for 19 years. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #146, Lambda Chi and a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved spending time with his daughter, Elizabeth, as well as hunting, fishing and hiking.

Josh is survived by his parents; wife of 16 years, Tammy Trueblood; daughter, Elizabeth Trueblood; brother, Travis (Robyn) Trueblood; sister, Mindy (Mark) Grove; maternal grandmother, Patricia Sturgeon; beloved in-laws, Ross & Dixie Maschino; brothers-in-law, Ross (Tammy) Maschino and Randy (Mary) Maschino; nieces and nephews, Caleb, Ethan and Anna Beth Trueblood, Walker and Camille Grove, Dylan and Delaney Maschino and Samantha Maschino and Julian.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harland and Lois Trueblood; and maternal grandfather, Charles Sturgeon.

Memorials may be written to American Brain Cancer Association, Schneck Hospice or Seymour Firefighter’s Local 577 Scholarship Fund, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
